"Euphoria" star Sydney Sweeney is making headlines for several reasons lately, including receiving backlash over her role in HBO's hit drama series, and now that her "The Devil Wears Prada 2" cameo was cut from the final footage.
The sequel brings back the main stars Anne Hathaway, Meryl Streep, Emily Blunt, and Stanley Tucci. In addition, Justin Theroux and Kenneth Branagh joined the cast of the new comedy-drama, which focuses on journalist Andy Sachs (Hathaway) and her boss, Miranda Priestly (Streep).
Sweeney, 28, initially filmed a cameo role as herself for the sequel to David Frankel's 2006 movie. She was only to appear briefly as herself in an opening scene for the film, which opens on May 1 in the United States.

A source revealed to Entertainment Weekly that it was simply a "creative decision" not to include Sweeney's cameo. She had initially filmed her cameo in mid-2025 for the upcoming movie, and it apparently was among the scenes they decided to leave on the cutting room floor.
According to EW, Sweeney and Disney didn't immediately respond to their request for comment about the situation.
Another cameo in the movie is singer and actress Lady Gaga, who also collaborated with Doechii on the song "Runway" for the new film's soundtrack.
Meanwhile, Sweeney returned to screens earlier this month on HBO's hit drama series "Euphoria." However, the show and actress have faced backlash over her portrayal as an aspiring adult website model. Recent episodes faced criticism for Sweeney's scenes in which she was modeling various costumes for prospective customers.
In addition, the series has received criticism over scenes featuring actress Zendya and others related to drug mules and consuming fentanyl. "Euphoria" is currently in Season 3 with new episodes arriving Sunday nights on HBO.
In other films, Sweeney is set to reprise her role in a sequel to "The Housemaid," "The Housemaid's Secret," which is in pre-production and slated for a 2027 release.
She has "Gundam" currently filming and "Custom of the Country" in post-production. Sweeney is also a producer on both of these movies, but neither has a release date yet.
